Set on one of Franschhoek's oldest streets in buildings more than 300 years old, La Clé Lodge occupies two working wine farms minutes from the village centre. The lodge offers five en-suite rooms where modern décor by Jacques Erasmus meets Cape Dutch architecture. Two Petite Rooms under thatch sit upstairs, linked by a lounge area. A single Courtyard Room opens onto the gardens via a private patio. Two Garden Rooms lead through doors to a wisteria-covered veranda with views towards the pool and vineyards.

Shared table dinners prepared by the in-house chefs bring guests together for South African home-style meals and wine-accompanied platters. Traditional braais cook local meats over open fire. Picnic baskets filled with bread, cheese, and wine can be carried into the vineyards. Continental and cooked breakfasts are served daily. The lodge grounds include a willow-lined dam with paddle boats, a full-size tennis court, and a chip-and-putt lawn. A helipad serves scenic flights over the Winelands. In-room spa treatments can be arranged. Village bicycles are available for rides through Franschhoek's galleries, restaurants, and wine estates. Laundry service, air conditioning, and wireless internet are included.
