La Petite Ferme
Family-run Franschhoek estate with a working cellar and mountaintop restaurant
Skip to product information
Set on the slopes of the Franschhoek Pass, La Petite Ferme stands above 15 hectares of estate vineyards with views across the valley to the Middagkrans range. The property is a family-run boutique hotel, restaurant, and working winery. Fifteen rooms are arranged in three groups: five Winery Suites occupy the original cellar building, five Manor House suites share a pool and terrace, and five Vineyard Suites look directly onto the vines. Each Vineyard Suite includes a private plunge pool, a wood-burning fireplace, and an outdoor daybed on its terrace. Manor House suites open onto a shaded verandah with a communal pool; the Winery Suites retain exposed oak floors and high ceilings from the cellar's working years. The restaurant serves a seasonal menu drawn from Cape producers, paired with estate wines including a Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, and two red blends. Winemaker Wikus Pretorius oversees the cellar; wine tastings are held daily on the tasting deck. In-room spa treatments are available, delivered by mobile therapists who set up in the suites. Activities within reach include the Franschhoek Motor Museum, rides on the Wine Tram, and walks through the surrounding fynbos. You can hear birdsong from the terrace at breakfast.
