Set on an escarpment above the perennial Tarangire River valley, Lemala Mpingo Ridge Lodge occupies a position within Tarangire National Park, Tanzania's sixth-largest protected area. Fifteen tented suites face the valley below; each is furnished with twin or super-king beds and features an en-suite bathroom, a private deck, and a sunken outdoor lounge that converts to a daybed. A private outdoor bathtub sits beside each suite. One suite holds two bedrooms for groups or families travelling together. White and natural-toned décor runs through all units.
The elevated main lodge contains a lounge, bar, dining space that extends both inside and outside, a spa offering daily treatments, and an outdoor swimming pool. Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives depart in custom 4×4 vehicles with guides who track elephant herds, baobab groves, and resident birdlife. Night drives extend after dark to reveal nocturnal species. Guided walks on foot leave at sunrise. Balloon safaris operate over the park. You can hear the river from the deck. House drinks, Wi-Fi, laundry service, park fees, and airstrip transfers are included. The park is home to large elephant populations, African python, fringe-eared oryx, and over five hundred bird species recorded across savannah, woodland, and riverine zones.
