Lemala Ndutu Mobile Tented Camp

Lemala Ndutu is a mobile camp pitched alongside a permanent marsh inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, close to where it meets the southern Serengeti. The camp operates here from December through March, the window when wildebeest, zebra and gazelle arrive in very large numbers to graze the short grass plains. Calving peaks around February, and the lions, cheetahs and leopards that concentrate in the area during those weeks make Ndutu one of the most active predator-viewing corridors in East Africa at that time of year.

The camp has nine tents. Each sleeps two in a pair of double beds and has an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet and hot shower. Two of the tents are configured as two-bedroom units, which works well for families or small groups. Solar panels supply electricity around the clock, backed by a generator. The communal area is divided into a lounge and a dining space, with a bar and campfire area for evenings.

For guests who want to stay out all day, the camp prepares picnic breakfasts and lunches to take on the plains. Game drives run in four-wheel-drive vehicles. The Ndutu airstrip is a twenty-minute drive from camp. Complimentary drinks are included, premium wines and spirits excepted, and a limited laundry service is available.
