Set on the Sabie River at the confluence with the Sand River in Sabi Sand reserve, Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is eight one-bedroom suites and one three-bedroom villa on a twelve-thousand-hectare concession spanning both Sabi Sand and Kruger. Interiors use teak, slate, and linen; floors are polished concrete. Guests are assigned a dedicated butler and housekeeper. Twice-daily game drives depart with a qualified field guide and tracker in open vehicles; night drives extend into hours when leopard and lion move most freely. Bush walks track spoor on foot. The lodge maintains seven kilometres of exclusive Sabie riverfront. You can hear hippos from the deck at night. A riverside island deck is built over the water for breakfast and private dinners. The lodge wine cellar stocks South African reserves; a sommelier advises on pairings. Boma dinners gather guests around an open fire. An artist residency programme brings working painters and sculptors on site; their studios are open to visitors. Laundry, wireless internet, transfers from Skukuza airport, and all meals are included.
