Loharano Lodge
Loharano Lodge sits on the western side of Nosy Be, a small island off the northern tip of Madagascar. The lodge fronts a private beach, with tropical gardens between the buildings and the water, and swimming pools on the grounds for guests who prefer to stay close.
Rooms are air-conditioned and fitted with a ceiling fan, minibar, and safe. Many open onto a terrace with a view over the pool or gardens. Wi-Fi is available in both rooms and public areas at no additional charge.
The restaurant and bar occupy an open-air space and serve a mix of local Malagasy dishes and international food. Grilled fish is a practical choice given the island's waters; the kitchen also covers more familiar ground for those who want it.
The lodge runs an excursion service and can arrange a shuttle on request. The surrounding waters are the main draw for most visitors to this part of Madagascar: Nosy Komba is close by, and Nosy Tanikely's reef sits within easy reach by boat. Mont Passot, the highest point on Nosy Be, is accessible from the lodge for anyone who wants to look out over the island's crater lakes.
Antsiranana Province is the broader administrative region; the nearest major airport serving the area is on the mainland coast north of the island.
