Loldia House

Wide verandahs frame views over Lake Naivasha and the dormant cone of Mount Longonot beyond. Loldia House was built in 1943 on the northwest shore of the lake, the main house holding one master bedroom and a dining room with original period detailing. Three garden cottages contain six country-style en-suite rooms; each cottage houses two separate rooms positioned among lawns where vervet monkeys move through the branches. Two luxury suites sit near the water, each with a private plunge pool and a double-sided log-burning stove that heats both bedroom and living room. Bathrooms in the suites feature double vanities, porcelain bathtubs, and twin rain showers. One family room links a double and twin via an enclosed walkway. The property sits within a 6,500-acre working farm and conservancy. Game drives cross acacia woodland and grassland where giraffe, zebra, impala, and waterbuck graze; night drives after dinner track bat-eared fox, hyena, and spotted eagle owl. Boat safaris on Lake Naivasha run at dawn or late afternoon, approaching hippo pods and tracking African fish eagle, pelican, and cormorant along the papyrus fringe. Guides lead walking safaris through rewilded acacia zones within the fenced farm. Day trips reach Lake Nakuru National Park in two hours for rhino and seasonal flamingo congregations.
