Mafu Haus stands on a gentle hill above the Bay of Inhambane in Nhamua, a working farming and fishing community on Mozambique's southern coast. The chalets are built from rammed earth — compressed soil and aggregate — each one individually designed, with private bathrooms, ventilation fans, comfortable beds, yoga mats, and a private sun terrace facing the bay.

The on-site restaurant serves locally inspired dishes built around fresh produce. In the evenings, guests can gather for traditional storytelling by firelight. The property also arranges sailing trips by dhow to Ilha Grande, sessions working clay with female ceramic artisans from the local community, and full-body massages.

Tofo, the surf and dive village with consistent swells and regular whale shark sightings offshore, is ten minutes away by road. Tofinho Point, a short distance further, offers reef breaks for surfers. The bay is visible from the terraces and from most parts of the property.

The address is Rua Guiambene, Bairro Nhamua, Inhambane. Inhambane town, a short distance from the property, has a small airport with scheduled connections to the capital.
