Maroma, A Belmond Hotel
Thatched roofs and locally woven textiles define the seventy-two accommodations at Maroma, A Belmond Hotel on the Riviera Maya coast. The property sits between jungle and Caribbean shore in Quintana Roo, 30 minutes from Cancún Airport. Nineteen deluxe rooms range from 28 to 41 m²; garden-view units overlook the pool, ocean-view rooms face the beach. Fifty suites span 42 to 115 m²; oceanfront plunge-pool suites add private terraces with outdoor showers. The Pavo Real Suite measures 85 m² and includes a terrace with private pool.
Three villas occupy beachfront positions. Villa Xuxú holds two king bedrooms across 106 m² and a rooftop terrace with plunge pool. Villa Mariposa spans 116 m² with a 6-metre circular pool on a furnished patio. Interior architect Tara Bernerd sourced all construction materials and textiles from Mexico; designs follow Mayan geometric principles.
Maroma Spa by Guerlain is Guerlain's first spa in Latin America. Three outdoor pools sit within the grounds. Four dining venues include Woodend by Curtis Stone, an open-fire grill, and Casa Mayor, serving regional Mexican dishes with seasonal produce. Bambuco by Handshake operates the cocktail programme. Freddy's Beach Bar serves drinks and snacks on the sand. A 24-hour fitness centre and kids' club operate on site. Playa del Carmen lies 20 minutes by road; Tulum is one hour; Chichén Itzá is 2.5 hours.
