Mmatsebe occupies twenty-five hectares on the Mbudi River — a quiet Khwai tributary — where the property boundary meets the edge of Moremi Game Reserve. The owner-run camp sits away from the busier central Khwai area, which makes a difference in high season, and is a thirty-minute drive from Khwai Airstrip.
Nine Meru-style tents are spaced along the riverbank. Each measures ten by four metres and has a double or twin bed under a mosquito-net canopy, ceiling fan, double vanity, flush toilet, and a log shower with hot water. A shaded deck off each tent faces the river. Room four is the accessible option: nearest to the main area, with a ramp, lower sink, and bathroom handrails.
Game drives are included and run morning and afternoon in open Land Cruisers, ranging across both the Khwai Concession and Moremi. Late-afternoon mokoro excursions on the Mbudi are also included and run throughout the year. The full-day Sitatunga's Edge excursion travels through Moremi to Xakanaxa, where guests board a double-decker pontoon boat to explore the delta waterways with lunch on board, then game-drive back to camp. Helicopter scenic flights over the delta, to Tshodilo Hills, or with a champagne stopover are bookable through a partner operator.
The main area is a canvas-on-deck structure with dining and lounge space, a plunge pool, and river views. A boma serves as the morning coffee and evening gathering point, and a separate Wi-Fi lounge keeps connectivity away from the sleeping tents.
