Sand and silence frame three campsites under acacia trees beside a dry riverbed on the C19, sixty kilometres north of Sesriem. Each site has power points, water, a braai area, and a windbreak; shared ablution blocks serve all three. Fossilised dunes rise across the riverbed. The site accommodates a maximum of six guests and one camper or two vehicles per pitch.
Guided drives depart from Namib Desert Lodge, five kilometres away, at sunrise or sunset, crossing the Gondwana Namib Park to reveal the ancient dune plateau and red sand dunes. A half-day guided excursion runs to Sossusvlei, home to some of the highest dunes on the continent; brunch is included and advance booking is required. A three-kilometre night walk after dark uses ultraviolet light and a laser pointer to reveal nocturnal species; it must be booked directly at the lodge. Walking trails begin at the lodge and thread through the immediate desert; maps are available at reception.
The nearby lodge has a restaurant, a bar, two pools, secure parking, and a souvenir shop. Staff speak English and Afrikaans. Firewood is available for purchase at reception. Twenty-four-hour security is standard. You can hear the wind move across the dunes at night.
