Naona Moru Camp
Eleven tented suites beside the Moru Kopjes above Serengeti's southern plains
Set on a rise beside the Moru Kopjes in the central Serengeti, the camp sits forty minutes from Seronera Airstrip in a natural alcove shielded by vegetation. Eleven tented suites face a small open plain used by resident game; each has netted windows that open along both sides, an en-suite shower, twin or double beds under mosquito nets, a seating area, and a private veranda. Family suites accommodate two adults and up to three children. A honeymoon suite is available. The camp lies within reach of the southern plains and the rocky kopje clusters that punctuate them, habitat for leopard, hyrax, and black rhino.
Guided drives cross the central Serengeti twice daily, tracking resident herds and migratory movements. Walking safaris with an armed guide depart from Seronera and follow animal tracks across the surrounding grassland. Hot-air balloon flights lift at sunrise; a champagne breakfast in the bush follows the flight. Bush dinners unfold at private sites away from the camp, lit by lanterns and set with enamel plates. The dining area serves communal or private meals; a separate bar and lounge overlook the plain. You can hear hyena calls from the tents after dark.
The camp operates year-round. Solar panels and a generator supply power; battery-charging points and WiFi are available. Staff speak English, French, and Swahili. Twenty-four-hour security is standard.
