Nyati Safari Lodge

Game drives depart twice daily into a 10,000-hectare private Big Five reserve that shares an unfenced border with Kruger National Park. Rangers track elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, and buffalo across open savannah and riverine woodland; wildlife moves freely between the reserve and Kruger. The lodge sits on the banks of the Olifants River in Limpopo, sixty-five kilometres from Hoedspruit. Twenty-two units occupy the riverbank, connected by footpaths and bridges. Ten river bungalows hold glass sliding doors that open onto private furnished terraces above the water. One family river bungalow accommodates six. Five luxury rhino tents sit on the slope with en-suite bathrooms and decks overlooking the river. Six Olifant Villa suites span two to four bedrooms, each with a private pool, boma, and covered terrace. The private Cheetah Camp houses eight to fourteen guests in a 500-square-metre compound with a dedicated chef, guide, and pool. All stays include meals, South African wines, spirits, and soft drinks. The main lodge holds a restaurant, bar, boutique, pool, and lounge. Night drives use spotlights to track nocturnal species. Bush walks with armed guides cross the reserve on foot. A bush spa offers massage treatments. The lodge was founded in 1998 by Danish owners; a South African family now manages daily operations. Staff speak English, Afrikaans, and Zulu.
