Okonjima African Villa
Founded in 1991 as a farmer-education initiative, the AfriCat Foundation now runs one of Namibia's longest-running leopard research programmes from its base on Okonjima Nature Reserve. The villa sits within that 200-square-kilometre tract, ten kilometres from the lodge's two camps, overlooking a waterhole frequented by wildlife and endemic bird species. Two en-suite bedrooms occupy the main thatched house; two freestanding mini-suites stand thirty-five to fifty metres north and south. All four rooms have indoor and outdoor showers, bathtubs with views of the acacia thornveld, air-conditioning, and a Nespresso station. The main house adds a chef's kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace connecting the lounge and dining area, and an infinity pool ringed by African red-teak decking. Glass-panelled doors in the suites slide open or may be replaced with roll-down canvas screens and gauze for an open-air stay.

A dedicated host and chef prepare meals and manage turndown service. The villa operates on a fully inclusive rate covering all meals, drinks excluding premier labels, laundry, and two activities per person per day. Leopard tracking uses VHF telemetry to locate collared adults across the reserve; guides collect data for the three-decade research project. Rhino tracking on foot is led by the anti-poaching team. Pangolin tracking at night or during summer days follows the vulnerable species on silent walks. Brown hyaena drives focus on the rare, socially organised carnivore. Game drives cover the reserve's undulating terrain and riverine thickets without telemetry. The reserve lies in a malaria-free zone two and a half hours north of Windhoek. Children aged twelve and older are permitted. The property includes secure parking, WiFi throughout, and mobile reception.
