Opuwo Country Lodge
Built on a hilltop above Opuwo in northwestern Namibia, the lodge commands views across the Kaokoland plains. Forty air-conditioned rooms occupy single-storey blocks: 28 luxury twins and doubles, plus 12 standard twins. Luxury units feature walk-in showers, private verandas, and en-suite bathrooms with complimentary amenities. Four luxury twins interlink as family pairs. The lodge also operates 11 fenced campsites, each with a private shower, flush toilet, covered kitchen, and barbecue; hot and cold water is piped to every site.

A pool and deck occupy the main hilltop terrace. The restaurant serves breakfast from seven to nine, lunch from eleven to three, and dinner from six to nine; the kitchen emphasises Namibian ingredients. A taproom adjoins the dining room. An on-site wine cellar stocks South African and Namibian labels. Wireless internet is available throughout the public areas. The conference centre accommodates business groups.

Guided excursions depart for Himba villages at eight or at half past two; visits last two to three hours and include a translator. A full-day trip to Epupa Falls on the Kunene River leaves at eight and returns at sunset, stopping at baobab trees en route. Desert-elephant drives depart at half past four for a waterhole 60 kilometres away; sightings depend on herd movements. The town of Opuwo, three kilometres distant, has a gravel airstrip; the lodge arranges collection.
