Ossimba Beach Lodge

Set on two kilometres of private beach on Mozambique's northern coast near Nacala Bay, Ossimba Beach Lodge comprises seven ocean villas, two beach villas, two family villas, and one honeymoon villa within a fifty-hectare indigenous forest. The property operates on solar power and borehole water. A formalised marine reserve extends 1.5 km offshore, fronting the lodge boundary. The seven ocean villas cantilever over tidal pools on the eastern side of the property; each faces the sunrise. Interiors hold king-size beds enclosed by mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms with double basins and showers, and private decks. Thatch-roofed beach villas stand fifteen metres apart; interiors include king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms with double basins, and private outdoor showers. The honeymoon villa adds a bathtub. Family villas accommodate four with an optional extra bed. The lodge operates a PADI dive resort and a DAN industry partner centre equipped with Aqualung regulators, steel cylinders, and ten- and twelve-litre tanks. Wall dives, wrecks, and the house reef run from six to over fifty metres; night dives take place on the house reef in depths of twelve metres or less. Snorkelling gear is available for independent or guided shore and boat-based excursions. Kayaking through nearby mangroves departs daily. Whale watching runs July through September. The entertainment area includes a bar, satellite television, and wireless internet. Nacala airport lies thirty-five minutes by road.
