Established in 2019 on a private reserve within the Greater Kruger Area, Parsons Hilltop Safari Camps comprises four canvas tents, a private villa sleeping ten, and two riverside cottages. The reserve is unfenced and openly connected to Balule Game Reserve and Kruger National Park. Two luxury tents feature private viewing decks — one overlooks a waterhole lit after dark, the other faces the Drakensberg range — and each includes a heated plunge pool or outdoor hot tub, an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and twin basins, and a choice of king or twin beds. Two classic tents face the waterhole and have en-suite showers.
Parsons House accommodates four to ten guests across four bedrooms and a separate chalet, with a large pool and views over woodland savanna. Two cottages along the Olifants River — Croc Cottage and Hippo Cottage — sleep six and eight respectively and each has a private deck, plunge pool, and outdoor dining area. Elephants are frequent visitors to the riverbank.
Guided game drives depart twice daily in open vehicles and cover the reserve; bush walks with a ranger track smaller species on foot. A full-day excursion to Kruger National Park includes entrance and breakfast. The camp offers stargazing from the main deck and a children's bush walk with plaster-cast activities. Three-course dinners, two-course breakfasts, and light lunches are included. You can hear animals at the waterhole from the tents after dark.
