Peniche Praia
On the sand at Praia de Peniche de Cima in Peniche, Portugal, the surf school opened as the first on this stretch of bay in 2003. Certified coaches run group lessons capped at five students per instructor for one hour and 40 minutes; private sessions carry the same duration. Ten-lesson surf packs run across multiple days. Video analysis reviews technique after sessions. Surf-skate training on land builds balance and board transitions. Yoga classes tailored to surfers run on the beach.
Two accommodations operate steps from the sand. Surf House holds ocean-view rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and shared common areas; the city centre and shops are within walking distance. Beach House sits directly above the shore with rooms overlooking the Atlantic, a kitchen, and a terrace. Both buildings include wireless internet.
The property began as a beach bar in the early 1980s, later adding the surf school and first accommodation in 2005. Beach House opened in 2007, Surf House in 2011. The school stocks soft-top boards designed for stability. Laundry facilities and bicycle rental are available. You can hear the waves from the terrace.
