Set within the Selenkay Conservancy, a private wildlife corridor adjacent to Amboseli National Park, Porini Amboseli Camp is ten guest tents built to hold a maximum of twenty guests at a time. The conservancy serves as a dispersal zone for elephants, lions, and other species moving out of the park. Each tent is fitted with twin or double beds, solar-powered lighting, a private veranda, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. One tent is a family unit with two rooms and a lounge between them. The dining and lounge tent is furnished with wood-frame armchairs, coffee tables, and rugs; coffee and tea are available throughout the day.
Shared game drives depart in open-sided four-wheel-drive vehicles with a driver and tracker. Day drives run in the conservancy and the national park; a full-day excursion includes a picnic lunch in the park. Night drives track nocturnal species within the conservancy. Maasai warriors lead guided walks through the landscape and escort visits to a nearby village. Sundowners are served at a viewpoint overlooking Kilimanjaro. All meals, drinks—gin, vodka, wine, beer, soft drinks, and mineral water—and activities are included. The camp is Gold Eco-rated by Ecotourism Kenya and runs entirely on solar power. Twenty-four-hour security is standard. You can hear wildlife from the tent at night.
