Pu Luong Natura Bungalow

Pù Luông Natura sits above terraced rice fields in Vietnam's Pu Luong Nature Reserve, 175 kilometres by road from Hanoi. Fifteen timber bungalows and stilt houses occupy a ten-thousand-square-metre site carved into the slope. Wood and bamboo frame each structure; thatched palm roofs reference Thai ethnic building traditions. Suite Valley View bungalows rest on exposed rock beside the paddies and measure 35 m². Hexagonal suite rooms on the first and second floors span 38 m² and wrap three walls in glass; the remaining two use bamboo and local timber. Deluxe Valley View bungalows, 30 m², stand in front of the infinity pool. Curtains throughout carry hand-stitched brocade borders made by local Thai women. Bathrooms in most units install standing and overhead showers; two smooth stones set into the floor serve as foot rests during bathing. The infinity pool extends along the ridge and overlooks the valley. Trekking routes cross the reserve and follow paths through forest and terraced fields; guides arrange departures to suit preferred distances. Bamboo rafting takes place on waterways within the reserve. A traditional stilt house accommodates groups of up to ten on shared mattresses. The Executive Floor stilt house, 50 m², holds three queen beds and seats eight with air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom — a departure from open-plan stilt design.
