Set on 11 hectares of farmland outside Makhanda in the Eastern Cape, Seven Fountains Farm occupies three buildings dating to 1717. The property holds eleven rooms in total: five double rooms, four interconnected rooms along a shared veranda, and three self-catering cottages accommodating up to six people each. The Cottage is a detached 35 m² house with white walls, concrete floors, a king-size bed, and a small rear garden. The Barn, a 36 m² room next to the restaurant, retains dark grey stone walls and features wheelchair access. The Homestead spans 55 m² with two bedrooms, self-catering facilities, and a connecting door to the veranda rooms. The Farmhouse, the largest at 140 m², includes three king-size bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a terrace with lounge sofas. The four Stoep rooms measure approximately 30 m² each, with Stoep 4 offering its own private terrace.
The restaurant occupies the oldest structure and seats 40 guests inside, with additional terrace seating. Chef Nandhipa prepares kudu steak and springbok filet sourced from neighbouring farms, alongside vegan options. Sunday lunches draw diners from Port Elizabeth. Solar panels power the property and supply drinking water; wifi is available throughout. Facilities include a swimming pool, table tennis, a jeu de boule alley, a lookout post, two hammocks, and a boma with a campfire. A 1 km walking trail leads to the dam. The property lies within reach of Addo Elephant National Park, Shamwari, Pumba, and other Eastern Cape reserves. You can hear lions from the property at night.
