Samanzi

Water moves through Samanzi at every turn, cascading over three tiers of linked pools set with small islands and decks. Each of the fifteen cabanas opens straight onto this network, so a guest can step from bed to water in a few strides. It is a compact stay, built for ease rather than distance. The swim-up bar sits mid-pool, and a jacuzzi runs alongside it for those who want stillness instead of a drink. A sunken fire pit is cut into the main pool, lit after dark for guests who linger over conversation. Below ground, a wine cellar holds a private dining room, used on request for smaller groups away from the main restaurant. Rooms are air-conditioned, each with its own outdoor shower and pool or jacuzzi, and staff can arrange dietary requests without fuss. Samanzi sits a kilometre from Victoria Falls town and two from the falls themselves, close enough that game drives, river cruises, helicopter flights and walking tours are arranged straight from the lodge. Cycling and short nature walks run on site. The setting is compact and self-contained, built less around the bush than around water, shade and a kitchen that takes its cooking seriously.
