Sarara Treehouses
Set in a forest glade within the Namunyak Community Conservancy, Sarara Treehouses sits in the canopy one hour's walk from Sarara Camp. Eight raised tents overlook Mount Uarges, one of the seven mountains sacred to the Samburu, and the Sarara Valley below. Each tent has an en-suite toilet and basin, and an adjacent outdoor shower open to the forest. A two-tent family suite places the units close together, with the same fittings. Elephant, buffalo, leopard, and bushbuck move beneath the structures on the forest floor.

A communal dining area and pool face the mountain. The property runs on solar power and is entirely community-owned. Game drives depart day and night through the conservancy; guided walks lead to cycad groves and ancient trails; horseback rides track wildlife at close range. Fly camps can be arranged in dry riverbeds. You can visit Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, a forty-five-minute drive away, or walk to nearby Samburu manyattas to meet blacksmiths and beading groups. Staff speak English and Swahili. Laundry service and battery charging are available.
