Segera Retreat
Set on fifty thousand private acres in the foothills of Mount Kenya, Segera Retreat is ten thatched villas within botanical gardens on a big-five conservancy. Five Garden Villas rest on stilts above a cactus boma wall with bleached wooden decks facing the plains; one Family Garden Villa holds two en-suite bedrooms. Five private houses include Segera House, a three-bedroom villa with a private pool and gallery walkway linking the upper rooms, and Villa Segera, a two-bedroom structure built on stilts with suspended walkways connecting octagonal and square bedrooms above an open-air living space. The Farmhouse, renovated from a 1940s ranch house, has multiple bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and lawn. Garden House and Greenhouse each contain two bedrooms.

Daily game drives depart in open-sided vehicles with guides across the conservancy, where lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, and buffalo populations are established; Eastern Black rhino were released into the Segera Rhino Sanctuary in 2025. Guided nature walks track wildlife on foot. Endangered reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, and Lelwel's hartebeest are resident; up to 150 bird species have been recorded. The wellness centre houses a spa, gym, and solar-powered Rasul steam tower. A saltwater pool sits within the gardens. Dining venues include a restaurant and outdoor spaces for picnics and sundowner cocktails in the bush. Guests may visit local Samburu communities and schools supported by the retreat. Laundry service, minibar, and wireless internet are complimentary.
