Arrival at Selinda Camp usually comes by boat, gliding onto the Selinda Spillway where it feeds the Linyanti River. The camp sits inside a private reserve in Botswana's remote north-west, a stretch of woodland and floodplain known for its elephant herds and for the wild dogs that den nearby. Guides here track a resident lion pride, once filmed for a National Geographic documentary by the camp's founders, alongside regular leopard and hippo sightings.
It is a small camp. Three suites stand under thatch, each with its own veranda, plunge pool, and an indoor bathroom finished in brass and cotton linen. Two elephant sculptures greet guests at the entrance, part of a design built around water, air, earth, and fire, and referencing the camp's mixed European, Mokololo, and Bayei roots. Days run on safari drives, guided walks, and boating when water levels allow, with catch-and-release fishing offered mid-year and birding strong from November through April, when species diversity across the reserve peaks. A spa sits above the camp's wine cellar. Selinda Camp is a Relais & Châteaux property, and check-in runs from 2pm.
