Simbavati Grumeti

Simbavati Grumeti sits on open plains near Fort Ikoma in Tanzania's Mara Region, where the western edge of Serengeti meets the Grumeti River corridor. The Great Wildebeest Migration moves through this stretch, and lion, leopard, buffalo, and giraffe are present year-round. Each tent has a deck that looks directly out over the plains.

The camp holds twelve tented rooms in two configurations. Luxury Safari Tents have a king bed, convertible to twin, an en suite bathroom, an outdoor shower, and a deck over the plains. Luxury Family Tents add a second bedroom with twin beds and share an outdoor shower between the two rooms. Children from six years are welcome.

Game drives go out in open vehicles. Guided walks are also available, as is a full-day Serengeti safari combining drives, bird watching, and time in the field. The hot air balloon safari begins before dawn. The camp has a bar, a pool, and a spa, and evenings are typically spent at the boma around an open fire. The kitchen caters for vegetarian guests. Airport transfers can be arranged, and the camp provides laundry service and room service.
