Sundaras Resort

Built near Dambulla Cave Temple in Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle, Sundaras Jungles Resort & Spa sits on Kandy Road within walking distance of a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates to the second century BC. The resort houses sixteen rooms in four categories. Superior Double Rooms measure 30 m² and hold a queen bed with garden views. King Rooms with Pool View span 35 m² and include a seating area facing the infinity pool. Deluxe Family Rooms with Balcony measure 45 m² and fit two king beds, a balcony, and views toward the pool and forested slopes. The Deluxe Family Suite offers 50 m² of soundproofed space with two king beds, a private terrace, and mountain views. The restaurant serves Sri Lankan and international dishes beside the jungle pool. Breakfast includes fruit, omelettes, French toast, and pastries. The spa occupies a dedicated pavilion and administers Ayurvedic treatments. Sigiriya Rock Fortress lies 17 kilometres east—a fifth-century palace carved into volcanic rock. Minneriya National Park, 24 kilometres from the resort, runs jeep safaris and hosts seasonal elephant gatherings. The concierge arranges visits to Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, both 67 kilometres distant. You can hear endemic birdlife from the pool terrace at dawn.
