Game drives depart twice daily from 30 thatched chalets arranged in a U-formation around a natural waterhole in Madikwe Game Reserve. The reserve — South Africa's fourth largest, covering 75,000 hectares — is malaria-free and lies on the far northern border in the North West Province. A four-hour drive from Johannesburg on the N4 via Rustenburg and Zeerust brings you to the Derdepoort Gate, ten kilometres from the lodge. Daily scheduled flights operate from Oliver Tambo International Airport to Madikwe Airstrip, landing at 11h00 and 14h00; the lodge arranges transfers from the airstrip.
Twenty standard chalets hold two adults; each has a private deck, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-bar, and safe. Six deluxe chalets — double the size — accommodate two adults and two children under twelve in one open room. One family unit joins two standard chalets via a shared lounge; one family suite joins two deluxe chalets the same way. One standard chalet is wheelchair accessible. All rooms face the waterhole.
The spa sits within walking distance of the main lodge and offers treatments using Africology products formulated with indigenous ingredients. A conference centre 270 metres square can seat 60 delegates. Children under six join shorter safari drives; those six and older join the standard adult drives. Rangers track elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, and more than 250 bird species across the reserve.
