The Buckland Studio Retreat
Dave and Melany run five private studios on their own working valley farm
Porepunkah sits at the edge of the Buckland Valley, and the farm runs back from McCormack's Lane toward bush and the ridges of Mount Buffalo. Five studios are spaced across the 40-acre property, each roughly 70 metres from its neighbour and screened by established gardens. Dave and Melany live on site and manage the place directly, no lockbox, no remote booking agency. Studios range from 55 to 75 square metres and each has a king bed, a wood or gas fire, a private firepit, and two patios or a deck facing the hills. Studio 1 and Studio 2 keep a freestanding bath and double rain shower; Studio 5, the largest at 75 m², has a deep soak bath set toward Mount Buffalo. There is no Wi-Fi, a deliberate choice kept for years, though mobile reception covers both major carriers. A welcome hamper of local bread, eggs, bacon and granola is stocked before arrival, enough to cover the first two or three days without a supermarket run. Guests can add a BBQ pack, grazing platter, flowers, or an onsite massage, arranged at least 48 hours ahead. It is adults-only, 18 and over. Porepunkah is two minutes away, Bright about 15, and Albury Airport roughly an hour and a half by road.
