Opened in 2004 in a 1950s residence purchased and restored by James Peech, the hotel occupies two acres of largely indigenous gardens in the residential neighbourhood of Melrose. The family-run property holds 32 rooms, two restaurants, and two outdoor swimming pools. Sandton lies ten minutes away; Rosebank and Melrose Arch are five. Classic Rooms at 40 m² feature en-suite bathrooms with both bath and separate rain-dance shower, air conditioning, and private balcony or patio facing the gardens. Luxury Rooms span 45 m² with herringbone oak floors, walk-in rain-dance showers, separate toilet areas, and stackable glass doors opening to ground-floor patios or first-floor terraces. Peech Suites at 60 m² offer open-plan living space, extra-large bathrooms with double vanity, freestanding bath, and separate toilet. The two-bedroom Peech Villa extends across 90 m² with a central lounge, refreshment station, and en-suite bathrooms in both bedrooms.
The Garden Restaurant overlooks the central pool and serves modern classics for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to in-house guests only, with indoor and outdoor seating. The Pot Luck Club Johannesburg, led by head chef Ebie du Toit under Luke Dale-Roberts, offers globally inspired small plates in a shared dining format, open to the public and hotel guests for lunch Wednesday through Sunday and dinner Tuesday to Saturday. The property holds Fair Trade in Tourism certification. A boardroom seats 16 delegates. Secure parking, a business centre, and laundry service are available.
