The Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai
Part of Phasec create
The Portman Ritz-Carlton occupies a tower inside Shanghai Centre, the retail, dining and entertainment complex on Nanjing West Road in the middle of downtown Shanghai. Five hundred and ninety-three rooms and suites face the city, each decorated in a contemporary Chinese style. Jing'an Temple subway station is a short walk from the door, which makes most of central Shanghai reachable without a car.
The hotel has two main places to eat and drink. Portman's Restaurant runs from breakfast through dinner with a menu built around familiar dishes given a lighter, more creative treatment. The Ritz Bar and Lounge is a cocktail bar that draws on Art Deco references from 1920s and 1930s Shanghai — afternoon tea is also served here through the day.
The health club includes a twenty-four-hour gym, squash courts, and both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a hot tub. Guests staying on the Club Level floors have access to a separate lounge with food and drink served across several sittings during the day.
For meetings and events, the hotel holds nearly sixty-one thousand square feet of function space across several rooms, including a ballroom. On-site parking is available in the garage below the building. Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is fourteen kilometres away; Pudong International Airport is fifty kilometres out.
