The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour Miami

Set on one of the last undeveloped stretches of waterfront in Miami Beach, The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour occupies a private peninsula where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Intracoastal Waterway. The resort is currently closed for a full renovation, with a reopening planned for January 2027. It is a compact stay by Miami standards: 100 rooms, most with ocean or waterway views, arranged on floors that keep the property residential in feel rather than dense. Rooms run from 48 m² ocean-view doubles with 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and a free-standing soaking tub, up to a 261 m² Presidential Suite with four terraces, a grand piano, and a six-person theatre. Suites at 107 m² and 154 m² add a full kitchen and dining room, useful for longer family stays. Guests reach the beach directly from the resort, a semi-private stretch worked with daybeds and cabana service. Exhale spa runs daily wellness classes alongside standard treatments, and the pool sits between the beach and the guest wings. The rebuild will bring a new chef-led restaurant, a members' club, and an expanded spa and fitness wing, while keeping the low-key, residential character the resort has held since it opened. You can walk to Bal Harbour Shops from the front door. Check-in runs from 4pm.
