Time + Tide Chongwe Camp

Time + Tide Chongwe House is a private, two-storey, four-bedroom, four-bathroom house on a stretch of the Chongwe River in the Lower Zambezi. It takes a group of four to eight people exclusively — no other guests share the property during your stay. The building uses river pebble finishes and furniture carved from a fallen winterthorn tree, materials that come directly from the surrounding land. Each room has an open-air bathtub and a waterfall shower; the house also has a large pool and both indoor and outdoor dining and lounge areas.

Elephants cross the Chongwe in front of the house. The broader area holds lions, leopards, wild dog, and three hundred and seventy bird species. Warthogs graze on the lawn. A wildlife hide nearby is set up for photography and watching nocturnal animals after dark.

Activities run from the property and from the Zambezi itself: game drives in open four-wheel-drive vehicles, guided walking safaris, canoeing, boat cruises, night drives, and tiger fishing on the river. The kitchen team works with local and seasonal ingredients and arranges meal times around the group's activity schedule rather than a fixed timetable. A cultural village visit to the Chiawa community, established in partnership with conservation organisations and the Goba people of Chiawa, is available as an off-site excursion.

The house is in the Lilayi area outside Lusaka and is served by a complimentary airport transfer.
