Tuna Bay Island Resort

On the southwest coast of Pulau Perhentian Besar, Tuna Bay Island Resort occupies 55 wooden chalets on stilts distributed between beachfront plots shaded by coconut palms, garden clearings, and hillside terraces above the shore. The resort faces the South China Sea and neighbouring Pulau Perhentian Kecil across open water. Rainforest rises directly behind the property.

Deluxe Beach Front chalets stand closest to the sand and accommodate three adults. Deluxe Garden chalets sit one minute inland around planted garden beds. Deluxe Standard chalets back onto jungle. Super Deluxe Sea View chalets—five units—occupy a quiet section away from the main beach but retain direct sea views. Super Deluxe Hill View chalets—six units—face slopes planted with vegetation and hold four adults. Family configurations connect two chalets via an adjoining door: Deluxe Family Beach Front pairs a beachfront unit with a garden-facing unit; Super Deluxe Family Sea View links a sea-view chalet with a hill-view one; Super Deluxe Family Hill View joins two hillside chalets. All chalets carry air-conditioning, covered terraces with rattan furniture, and en-suite bathrooms with hot water. Super Deluxe units add mini-fridges.

Snorkelling takes place on house reefs accessible from the beach. PADI open-water certification and guided dives run year-round. Jungle-trekking routes cross the interior. Tuna Club operates in the evening. Tuna Café serves meals on an elevated platform above the shore. Boat transfers depart Kuala Besut jetty.
