Wilderness DumaTau

Wilderness DumaTau sits on Osprey Lagoon inside the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in northern Botswana, on a stretch of river frontage running forty-five kilometres along the Linyanti and the Savuti Channel. The reserve covers one hundred and twenty-six thousand hectares with no fences, so elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and wild dog move freely through it.

The camp has eight suites in total: six twin tented suites, one additional twin or double suite, and a family unit — each one hundred and forty-two square metres and raised off the ground to face the lagoon. Every suite has a private plunge pool, an indoor lounge, and a bathroom fitted with both indoor and outdoor shower options. The family unit sleeps four across two rooms, each with its own bathroom. The entire camp runs on solar energy.

Game drives go out twice daily in open four-by-four vehicles, with four guests per vehicle so everyone has a window seat. Night drives use spotlights to find lesser bushbabies, servals, large-spotted genets, aardwolf, and occasionally pangolin. When water levels allow, guides take guests onto the Linyanti by boat or barge — crocodiles line the banks, and hippo pods gather where the Savuti Channel meets the river. The reserve holds Important Bird Area status, with eagles and raptors concentrated along the Savuti Channel and Okavango species visible in the quieter waterways.

The Osprey wellness centre, shared with the adjacent Wilderness Little DumaTau, has a lap pool, spa, gym, and a shaded deck overlooking the lagoon. Guided walks are available seasonally, subject to a qualified walking guide being on site.
