Wilderness Qorokwe

Wilderness Qorokwe sits inside a concession of over twenty-six thousand hectares, bounded to the west by the Santantadibe channel and to the east by the Gomoti channel, which runs along the border of Moremi Game Reserve. The camp's name is a local word meaning 'the place where buffalo pushed out of the bush and into the water' — and buffalo, along with elephant herds, lion, cheetah, leopard, spotted hyena, and wild dog, move through the concession's mix of floodplains, wooded islands, palm grassland, and dry woodland. White rhino have been reintroduced into the area.

Nine tented suites stand on raised wooden platforms connected by more than a kilometre of elevated walkways. Eight are configured as twin or double rooms; one family suite has a private plunge pool and outdoor deck. En-suite bathrooms have indoor showers designed to open toward the bush. The main gathering area holds a lounge, library, dining room, and a bar with an infinity pool facing the lagoon. The camp is solar-powered and draws its staff largely from surrounding communities under a community-held concession lease.

Twice-daily game drives cover the concession's varied terrain. Mokoro excursions by dugout canoe run when water levels allow, and guided walks, night drives, boating, and lagoon-edge birding are on offer throughout. Full-day trips to the Gomoti Plains are available on a minimum two-night stay. Fishing runs on a catch-and-release basis, except in January and February when Botswana law prohibits it.
