Each of the five rooms opens onto a watering hole and the bushveld beyond. En-suite bathrooms hold both a shower and a bath; air conditioning and ceiling fans work in tandem with mosquito nets. The camp sits in a mopane forest within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, established in 1972 as part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The reserve covers sixty thousand hectares of savanna; no fences separate it from adjoining reserves or Kruger itself.
Game drives in open vehicles depart twice daily and run for three hours. Rangers and trackers navigate the reserve in search of lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. You can hear hippos from the lodge. Summer drives leave at half-past five in the morning and four in the afternoon; winter schedules shift half an hour later. The Tseni Suite — a two-bedroom unit with a kitchen, lounge, and plunge pool — comes with a private vehicle and guide. It overlooks the same open ground as the main rooms. Meals can be served in the suite or in the main lodge.
A swimming pool, bar, and dining area anchor the main camp. A bush boma holds pre-dinner drinks around the fire. A gym is available to all guests. Wi-Fi runs throughout. The lodge accepts children from the age of three.
