Amari Dhaka

Amari Dhaka is a 134-room hotel set in Gulshan-2, among the banks, embassies and UN offices that make up Dhaka's diplomatic quarter. Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is a twenty-minute drive away. Built in 2014 as ONYX Hospitality Group's flagship in Bangladesh, the hotel carries a Thai-inspired design language layered with local touches in the décor. Rooms and suites run from 37 to 75 square metres. Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows, and the effect is a flood of daylight rather than the usual sealed-box interior of a business hotel. The Deluxe Studio adds an open kitchenette for longer stays, while the One Bedroom Terrace Suite comes with a six-seater dining table set on a private terrace above the street. Four restaurants and bars cover the day: Amaya, Deck 41, The Den and Cascade, spanning Thai, Asian and international menus. A rooftop pool, the Breeze Spa and a gym round out the leisure side. For events, the Eden Grand Ballroom holds up to 300 guests across 303 square metres, backed by four smaller function rooms for board meetings or breakout sessions. Security runs to 24-hour x-ray scanning at every entrance. It is a hotel built around the rhythms of business and diplomatic travel, not resort leisure, and the location does most of the work: banks, embassies and UN offices sit within walking distance, and Lalbagh Fort is a short drive by the hotel's own limousine service.
