Eco Horqueta

Lit only by solar power and framed by rows of coffee shrubs, the four bungalows at Eco Horqueta face the slopes of the Barú Volcano across the Horqueta valley. Each has its own terrace, bathroom and entrance, along with hot water and satellite Wi-Fi despite the property's off-grid setup. The farm sits at 1,674 metres, on ground steep enough that paths switch back through the two hectares of trails laid with recycled tyres. Spring water runs the taps; rain is collected and stored; the kitchen draws on food grown within sight of the dining terrace. Farm animals — dogs, cats, hens, ducks — wander the grounds. It is a small stay, four bungalows only, and bookings run a minimum of two nights. Boquete's town centre lies twenty minutes down the mountain by car.
