Mövenpick Resort Petra

Wadi Musa sits at the edge of the Petra site, and this resort stands closer than any other, roughly 50 metres from the visitor centre and the main gate into the ruins. Sandstone tones, carved wood and Middle Eastern textiles fill the public rooms, echoing the rock-cut facades a short walk away. There are 183 rooms and suites in total. The Classic rooms run to 24 square metres with courtyard views; Junior Suites open onto a separate sitting area at 32 square metres, some with balconies over the pool; the Royal Suite reaches 55 square metres with its own terrace and a kitchenette. Seven restaurants and bars operate across the property, including a rooftop garden overlooking the valley and a lobby lounge set beneath a brass chandelier over five metres tall, carved in a Damascus style. At Zara Spa, treatments draw on Dead Sea salts and mud alongside a Nabatean massage using herbal oils traditional to the region. An outdoor pool, steam room and gym round out the wellness side. You can walk to the Siq and the Treasury within minutes of checking out the front door. The hotel does not run its own tours or transport, but the visitor centre across the street arranges guides in most languages, and taxis wait nearby. It is a plain, practical base for one of the region's oldest sites, built to put guests inside the walk to Petra rather than beside it.
