Punta Quepos promontory where jungle trails meet Pacific tides and canopy lines
Guests set out on foot along ten acres of jungle trail before breakfast, tracking three resident monkey species and both two- and three-toed sloths with a certified guide. The resort sits on the Punta Quepos headland, a five-minute walk from the beach and a short drive from Manuel Antonio National Park. Its own grounds function as a working patch of secondary rainforest: toucans, parrots, and macaws move through the canopy, and a night walk with handheld lights turns up coatis, raccoons, and the occasional red-eyed frog. It is a rare property where the wildlife tour starts at the door. Rooms and suites number 129, from Garden Rooms opening onto the grounds to a three-bedroom Family Suite spanning 172 square metres, and several Vista Suites carry their own private jacuzzi on the balcony. Three pools and a spa built into the jungle trail network give the property a rhythm split between rainforest and coast. Beyond the grounds, guides run kayak trips through the Isla Damas mangroves, whitewater rafting on the Savegre River, and a canopy zip-line course with a suspended bridge and an on-site butterfly farm.
