Shaheen Camp Wadi Rum

Set among red sand dunes and rock formations in Jordan's Wadi Rum protected desert, the camp places 30 tented rooms within reach of the Visitor Centre to the north. Two tent designs anchor the property: Deluxe tents with mountain views hold one to four guests in traditional Bedouin fabric shells; Martian domes wrap panoramic glass walls around a king bed. Both include private bathrooms, air-conditioning, heating, and outdoor seating. Wi-Fi is complimentary.

Jeep tours of two, three, four, or six hours depart with Bedouin guides for the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Lawrence's Spring, Um Frouth Rock Bridge, and Burdah Arch. Camel rides cross sand and ancient trails from the Visitor Centre to camp or on dedicated sunrise and sunset routes. Stargazing excursions use telescopes to track constellations; the Milky Way is visible most nights. Hiking routes reach Barrah Canyon and Jebel Um Adaami, Jordan's highest summit; rock-climbing routes of varied grades follow traditional lines. Hot-air balloon flights lift at sunrise for views across the valley floor and rock towers.

The camp maintains a communal restaurant, a fire pit for evening tea, and shaded seating. Traditional zarb dinners cook underground. Twenty-four-hour security and secure parking are standard.
