The Capra

Set behind wood-panelled walls and stone bathrooms, The Capra pairs brushed tweed and log fires with floor-to-ceiling windows framed on glaciers. The lighting runs on a fire-and-ice contrast, crystal fixtures catching the glow of the hearths below. It is a compact stay: just 38 suites and rooms across three interconnected chalets, each with its own balcony facing the gabled roofs and peaks around Saas-Fee. Signature Suites run 45 m² with a separate sitting room; Penthouse Suites reach up to 105 m² with their own fireplace and top-floor views. Swiss architects and a British interior team built the look around local materials rather than imported polish, and furnishings throughout were made specifically for the house. A converted barn now serves as a ski-in ski-out cabin beside the slopes, with lockers fitted for glove, boot, and helmet warmers. You can walk back to the hotel from the lifts in under ten minutes, or call the driver instead. The spa carries a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and pool, alongside a wine cellar stocked with regional bottles. Saas-Fee itself is car-free, which keeps the village quiet even in ski season.
