Potato Bush Camp

Potato Bush Camp sits inside Lower Zambezi National Park on the bank of the Zambezi River. It holds four guest units — a trio of safari tents and a standalone family house — sized and arranged so that a single family or small group can take the camp privately.

Each of the three safari tents is large, with an en-suite bathroom fitted with double showers, double basins, and a full-sized clawfoot bathtub. Folding doors open onto a private balcony where a hammock and a plunge pool face the river. Two tents have king-sized beds; the third can be configured differently. The family house stretches twenty-one metres wide, with two en-suite bedrooms set either side of a central living area, plus its own plunge pool and veranda. Butlers service all rooms, from morning tea to laundry.

The camp is one of a small number of operators licensed to run activities from inside the national park. The fourteen-kilometre Chifungulu Channel begins a hundred metres downstream, which is where canoe safaris run. Game drives go out by day and night — leopard, lion, and nocturnal species including genet and civet are regular sightings. Walking safaris are led by a professional guide accompanied by a National Parks Wildlife Officer, covering tracks, plants, and smaller animals at close range. The Zambezi holds Tigerfish and Tilapia; all fishing is catch-and-release in line with national park rules.

The boma dining area seats twelve guests. The camp is reached by light aircraft to Jeki airstrip.
